World Water Network

UN Water Conference 2026

The World Water Network is supporting facilitation and coordination for the Academia and Science Stakeholder Group in preparation for the 2026 UN Water Conference, to be held in the United Arab Emirates in December 2026.

This effort is gathering perspectives from researchers, academic institutions, scientists, and other members of the water community to help inform the Stakeholder Declaration for the conference.

The consultation focuses on the role of academia and science in global water governance, future stakeholder participation in multilateral water processes, priorities for the global water agenda beyond 2030, collaboration between governments and non-state actors, and approaches for tracking commitments and progress.

The Stakeholder Declaration for the 2026 UN Water Conference and Beyond brings together perspectives from different stakeholder groups to inform global water priorities, strengthen participation in water governance, and promote accountability. To read the draft, learn about the consultation process, and explore opportunities to contribute, visit the Stakeholder Declaration website here: https://stakeholdersforwater.org/

Members of the academia and science community are invited to share their perspectives through the consultation form below. Their responses will help ensure that the Stakeholder Declaration reflects a broad range of knowledge, experiences, and priorities from the global water community.
